These workers have been suffering from harsh conditions, such as pollution, lack of nutrition, housing, electricity and water. Seven of them died over the past three years.

The carpet factory was closed two years ago after its production stopped. 150 employees at that time complained and demanded for their visas and plane tickets.

However, they received no response from the employment agencies. One of the employees said, “Three years ago we strived for our rights, hoping we would get our wages. But now all we want is our exit visas and tickets to escape from this predicament and return safely to our home country.”
