“While a few girls came in traditional guises of Jhansi ki rani, clown and even planet earth; the Hawaii girl and the plastic girl were in attendance too at the event,” said Shah, here.

“The fancy dress competition organized in the IISR (Girls) kindergarten wing was one of the first events to be organized in the school this year,” said Shah, adding, that a large number of girls from “LKG and UKG participated with exciting and very interesting costumes, that drew everyone’s attention.”

“The little ones’ parents stopped at nothing to showcase their wards favorite fruit, tree, earth and French fries by dressing them up so,” she explained.  The winners in UKG section and those who won high commendations from the judges were Al Farzana Siddique (as plastic girl), Lubna Hamid Khan (as Jhansi ki rani),  Shifaqat jehan (as tree), Aisha Aijaz (starberry), Snigha Surendaran (justice icon), Aroush Khan (as French fries) and Hima Nazer (as joker).

The best performers from the LKG included Amena Haniya (as earth), Sara Samer (as cup cake), Asma (as pencil), Ahada Arif (as Hawaii girl), Sajni (as hop dancer) and  Dakshineshwary Siddhe (as Jhansi ki rani). The fancy dress show also provided an opportunity to the tiny tots to entertain and emulate their favorite personalities or objects from the nature, which have left their footprints in the sands of time, said KG head Mohan.

“We believe that to witness a fancy dress day in a school is one of the pleasant times in my life,” said Mohan, while referring to the creativity, performance and confidence of the girls.

The creations were wonderful and the costumes worn by little girls reflected that in each there was a streak of creativity to be at their best,” she added.

The IISR is one of the largest Indian schools in the world with over 8,000 students on its rolls today. The school, which is now celebrating its 30th anniversary, is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and is licensed by the Saudi Ministry of Education.
