The index touched a high of 6,799.29 points and low of 6,663.48 points during the week. Most of the major sectors closed in the green territory; Multi-Investment Sector remained at top showing an increment of 243.8 points, or 7.7 percent, 3,397.9 from 3,154.2. It also reflected a year-to-date change (+23.3 percent) which is highest amongst all Saudi sectors.

The market turnover went down by 14 percent and traded 1.9 billion shares as compared to previous week's 2.2 billion shares. The total value of traded shares reached SR43.2 billion as compared to previous week's SR41.3 billion, an increase of 4.6 percent. The figure of SR43.2 billion reflects highest value traded in a week since June 2009. The number of executed transactions reached 953.4 thousand as compared to 877.2 thousand transactions for the previous week, increase of 8.7 percent.

Takween started shares trading on Tadawul with opening price of SR60.00 and closed at SR55.50 on weekend. The stock posted a gain of 113.5 percent from its IPO price of SR26.00. Al-Ahsa Development Co. and Allianzsf were the key gainers during the week, up 26.1 percent and 20.8 percent respectively. Samba Financial Group, Arab National Bank, Saudi International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem), Fawaz Abdulaziz Al-Hokair Company, Al-Ahsa Development Co., Arabia Insurance, Saudi Indian Insurance, ACE Arabia were in the green territory throughout the week. Ash Sharqiyah Development Co. and Jazan Development suffered the largest losses amongst Saudi equities, down 13.8 percent and 5.5 percent respectively.

Out of 149 stocks traded during the week, 114 were up and 34 down while one remained unchanged.

Alinma Bank occupied the first position with regards to the number of shares traded. It reached 230.7 million shares, followed by Zain with 128.9 million shares. SABIC occupied the first position with regards to the value of shares traded. It reached SR2.7 billion followed by Alinma Bank with SR2.4 billion.

Total market capitalization of Saudi stock exchange reached at SR1.34 trillion represents 48.7 percent share in GCC stock markets.

GCC equities marched upward, all benchmark indices except Abu Dhabi (ADX) at GCC stock markets ended the week in green. DFM index remained at top, dug in at 1,486.9 and finished the week up over 3.5 percent. Trading volume at DFM reached 1,086.9 million shares traded, a 42.6 percent increase over last week's volume when 762.4 million, shares changed hands.
