Working on behalf of Namma Cargo and Technip Saudi Arabia, Al-Suwaidi delivered the vessels for installation at the Jubail Export Refinery Project (SATORP) site after covering the 100 km distance without incident and with minimal disruption to normal traffic.SATORP is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Total, and their first project in the Kingdom is nearing the end of its construction phase.

The vessel is part of the Package 5-A unit at SATORP and weighs 384 tons. The gross transportation weight including trailers was 520 tons. It is 14.5 meters in height, 10.5 meters in width and 36.7 meters in length.

This was a complex journey due to the height and latest road modifications on the Abu Hadriyah Highway. It required detailed coordination between local authorities, the Ministry of Transport, Royal Commission, the highway police and the Saudi Electricity Company, who were required to cut 16 power cables during the journey from Dammam to Jubail. Many road improvements and street furniture removals were also required to allow the vessel to pass underneath.

Al-Suwaidi General Manager Andrew Taylor paid tribute to all the authorities for their professionalism and dedication in assisting at all stages with the necessary approvals and assistance in making this project such a success.“We congratulate all those who were involved in this crucial task, particularly those external parties who extended tremendous support at every stage of the massive movement,” said Taylor.
