Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden) has signed a deal with Al-Rashid Trading & Contracting Company Ltd. (RTCC) worth SR563 million.

Under the deal, RTCC will be responsible for designs, engineering works, infrastructure and housing in the first phase development of a residential city in King Abdullah Project to develop Waad Al-Shamal City.

King Abdullah Project covers an area of 440 sq. km., including 150 sq. km for Maaden projects.

Maaden and its partners, SABIC and Mosaic, are investing SR28 billion to build seven plants in Waad Al-Shamal city and three facilities in Ras Al-Khair Industrial City.

The production capacity is estimated at 16,000 tons of phosphate products.

The city will provide more than 22,000 direct and indirect jobs, according to companies.

The contract was concluded at Maaden headquarters.

It includes preparing engineering studies, designs, supervision works, construction of major roads, public facilities, water plants and telecommunications networks, in addition to the first phase of residential complexes, besides safety and firefighting stations.

Modern designs will be implemented at the residential city that takes into account the different lifestyles that meet employees’ needs.

The city is expected to meet current and future needs of the population to ensure continued growth and prosperity.

It is being developed to be compatible with industrial cities that focus on production and finding necessary elements for creativity and innovation.
