The Saudi stock market depicted a positive drive yesterday, as the Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) edged higher to 7,561.5, up 34.14 points or 0.45 percent from previous level.

On a year-to-date basis, the index crossed a positive return of eleven percent.

All market cap indices finished to the upside, with Micro Cap advancing 0.9 percent.

Twelve out of Tadawul’s fifteen sectors extended gains, reflecting an accumulation of 347 points.

Industrial Investment and Insurance were best performing sectors of the day, surging by 1.04 percent and 0.87 percent respectively.

Only Transport, Real Estate and Media went slightly downward, trimming 21 points jointly.

Most of heavy weights witnessed a positive change yesterday. Al-Rajhi Bank and Riyad Bank performed well relatively, achieving a daily growth of 1.41 percent. The market breadth with advance-decline ratio of 2.8:1 remained strong.

Gulf General Cooperative Insurance turned in a splendid performance among all Saudi stocks, soaring up 9.98 percent to close the day at SR 47.40. Allianz Saudi Fransi Cooperative Insurance also continued its upward march for the fifth consecutive session, marking another gain of 7.26 percent.

Wafa Insurance, on the other hand, delivered a largely negative performance for the second straight day, slipping 9.88 percent further. Tadawul volume went slightly up by 1.5 percent and traded nearly 276 million shares.

Trading activity was led by Emaar the Economic City, which liquidated roughly 44 million shares, a relative market share of 16 percent. The value of these shares totaled SR 445.5 million, which equates 7.5 percent of total market liquidity.
