The Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) and the Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Humanitarian City have signed a memorandum of understanding to foster collaboration between the two parties in improving the quality of health care services and patient safety in the Kingdom.

Sultan City is a project launched by the Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Foundation, and in the presence of Prince Khalid bin Sultan, head of Sultan City’s board of trustees.

The agreement also aims to catapult the health sector in Sultan City to the highest levels, toward a healthy and vibrant community.

On behalf of Dr. Salem bin Abdullah Al-Wahabi, director general of the CBAHI, Dr. Ahmed Al-Otaibi, deputy director general, signed the agreement with Abdullah bin Hamad bin Zaraa, CEO of the Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Humanitarian City.

Dr. Al-Otaibi said: “The agreement is a tangible indication that shows the striving of the CBAHI to realize the utmost possible level of health care quality. We work to enable the Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Humanitarian City to fully contribute in fostering the culture of safety and quality in a way that moves in line with CBAHI’s vision.”

Abdullah bin Hamad bin Zaraa said: “We are happy to extend our cooperation with the CBAHI by signing such an important agreement through which we trustfully continue the march of progress. Undoubtedly, the agreement will help achieve Sultan City’s aspirations in offering all community categories an outstanding level of health care services that can promote the patients’ optimal level of well-being and safety.”

“CBAHI and Sultan City have agreed under this MoU to join their efforts in order to upgrade the health services in Sultan City and to turn its motto ‘Enhancing the Patient’s Journey One Experience at a Time’ into a reality. This goal is intended to be fulfilled through extensive training and educational programs, periodic examination of quality and patient safety standards, launching new initiatives that contribute to the health care development, and increasing participation in similar events in the community,” according to a press release.

The two parties have agreed to form an executive committee to follow up on the implementation of the MoU.
