Packed with energy, LuLu Hypermarket’s walkathon will take off in Alkhobar on Feb. 17, to mark Saudi Founding Day as well as to promote the message of sustainable development.
More than 5,000 people are expected to join the LuLu Walkathon, which will take place at Alkhobar’s new corniche, where they will walk 3 kilometers of the scenic route while enjoying the cool February weather.
Registration has already begun for the LuLu Walkathon, which is dedicated to promoting the Saudi leadership’s vision, celebrating the values of nationhood and patriotism on the occasion of Saudi Founding Day and putting sustainable development on the Kingdom’s growth agenda.
Interested participants can walk into any of the LuLu Hypermarket stores in Alkhobar and register at the walkathon kiosk. They can also simply scan the QR code prominently displayed in ads and in-store and register online.
The walkathon is set to begin at 8 a.m. The starting point will have booths for registration and also one booth where pre-registered participants can collect their walkathon goodie bags.
“This is a fun way to enjoy the great climate and at the same time drive home the sustainability message,” said LuLu Saudi Arabia Director Shehim Mohammed.
He added: “All over the world, sustainability is an important building block for development that will safeguard our planet and our future generations. LuLu is deeply committed to making people aware of the need to adopt sustainability as their progress matrix. The LuLu Walkathon is a way to involve the community and embrace this message for our collective good.”
