It is the end of summer and the start of OSN’s “Super Season.” The region’s leading entertainment network is bringing new shows straight from the Hollywood production houses direct to TV fans in the Middle East, within just days of their US premiere.
The “Super Season” sees OSN’s content offering expand even more in September and October, packing the schedules full of fresh, new and returning entertainment series, thought-provoking documentaries and Arabic dramas.
Here are some of the top shows to watch out for:
l New Amsterdam, NBC’s new medical drama, premieres on OSN Series HD First on Oct. 1. The fast-paced series is inspired by Bellevue, America’s oldest public hospital.
l Succession, a new HBO drama, follows a wealthy yet dysfunctional American global media family, headed by a Rupert Murdoch-esque media mogul, Logan Roy (Brian Cox).
It premieres on OSN First HD Home of HBO on Sept. 10.
l Magnum P.I. may ring a bell with some viewers that remember the original 1980’s series starring Tom Selleck. This action-packed reboot premieres on Oct. 4.
l HBO’s Sharp Objects premieres on OSN Play as a complete box set from Sept. 9.
l OSN will bring live coverage of the 70th Emmy Awards on OSN Series HD First on Sept. 18.
l On Discovery Channel everyone’s favorite survivalist, Bear Grylls, plucks celebrities out of the lap of luxury and puts them into the unforgiving wilderness in Running Wild with Bear Grylls from Sept. 18.
l On National Geographic, The Science of Stupid returns for a sixth season from Sept. 17.
l OSN will be debuting three new Russian series exclusively on OSN Yahala Al-Oula HD. These include: Akher Shita’a, popular Turkish drama Fadila Khanum wa Banat’ha, and Coma.
