Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia), the national flag carrier of the Kingdom, has congratulated Dustin Johnson for his win at the recent Saudi International golf tournament. Johnson overcame a world-class field to win the championship by two strokes and claim his sixth European Tour title.
Saudia was the official airline partner of the inaugural Saudi International European Pro-Am golf tournament, the first event of its kind to take place in the country. The event took place from Jan. 31-Feb. 3.
Globally renowned golfers from the European Tour took to the Royal Greens Golf & Country Club at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC).
The carrier supported the tournament as a logistics and global transport partner, in addition to welcoming players and guests onboard, from all over the world. Thousands of guests attended the tournament at KAEC, approximately 100 kilometers north of Jeddah, along the Red Sea coast.
The Kingdom’s first major international golf tournament drew several of golf’s biggest stars, including four of the world’s top five golfers, eight players from last year’s Ryder Cup and no fewer than seven majors champions.
Saudia flies to more than 95 destinations across four continents. Currently in its 74th year of operations, the airline is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO).
On Sept. 25, 2018, Saudia announced its partnership with the ABB FIA Formula E Championship as the official airline partner of the all-electric series, and was the race title partner of the inaugural Saudia Ad Diriyah E-Prix, which took place on Dec. 15 last year.
