JEDDAH: Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) has received two awards for inflight product experience at the Middle East Inflight Awards in Dubai.

The annual awards celebrate outstanding contributions to passenger experience across the in-flight entertainment, connectivity and cabin technology domains.

Saudia’s major award, “Inflight Airline of the Year,” recognizes new inflight entertainment products and advances in the past year. For Saudia, this includes the introduction of a new first-class suite as well as an enriched IFEC experience with 3,500 hours of leading content and a new in-flight connectivity portal.

Saudia continues to invest in enhancing passengers’ experience and has made major developments in its on-board products over the past 12 months.

Airlines from across the region attended the event, hosted by HMG Aerospace, in which awards were presented across seven categories.

It was a memorable day for Saudia as the airline’s B777 first-class suite earned the airline the “Innovation in commercial airline cabins” award.

Judges credited the product with “redefining luxury” and “setting a new mark in the industry.”

Present at the event to collect the awards were Azman Ahmad, Saudia general manager product management and Ayman Abuljadayl, manager onboard product cabin interior.

Saudia has added 60 new aircraft to its fleet since 2016, including the state-of-the-art Boeing 777, Boeing 787 Dreamliner, and the Airbus A330-300 Regional.
