Prince Khalid bin Sultan, president of the Saudi Arabian Motor Federation and patron of the PR Arabia Auto Award, has honored Shell Saudi Arabia for its sponsorship of the awards.

Waqar Siddiqui, CEO of Shell Lubricants Saudi Arabia, received an honorary shield from Prince Khalid, who praised the role of Shell in supporting automotive-related initiatives and activities. Siddiqui presented awards to a number of companies who achieved outstanding results this year, including Juffali Automotive Company, which won in the “Best After-sales” category for the third year in a row.

At the end of the public voting phase, 16 vehicles qualified for phase two — two vehicles in each category.

Winning vehicles were displayed live on stage in front of the judging panel, which voted on the spot in each category, during the ceremony.

The 6th edition of the PR Arabia Auto Award this year consisted of eight auto categories, including normal and luxury categories. The Hyundai Azera won the title of the “Best Large-sized Sedan,” while the Mazda 6 clinched the title of the “Best Mid-sized Sedan.” The Mercedes S-Class won in the “Luxury Sedan” category, while the Range Rove Velar was named the best “Luxury SUV.” The Nissan Patrol won in the “Large SUV” category, while the McLaren 720S bagged the title in the “Super Sports” category.

“We are proud to continue sponsoring and supporting this highly regarded award, and we are very keen to be part of the award’s development and advancement to cope with the changes in the Saudi Arabian automotive market,” Siddiqui said.

“Being in partnership with the PR Arabia Auto Award is a privilege in view of its high standards, credibility and transparency, and it reflects our strong commitment toward our clients in the automotive sector... The award has become an important indicator of the local market trends,” he added.
