JEDDAH: Commerce and Industry Minister Tawfiq Al-Rabiah on Friday described the US as one of the most important trade partners of Saudi Arabia.
He made these remarks at a high-profile business forum in Washington on Friday.
US-Saudi Investment Forum 2015 took place on the sidelines of the visit of Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques King Salman to Washington.
Al-Rabiah was one of the key speakers at the ministerial plenary session titled Fostering an Attractive Investment Climate.
Finance Minsiter Ibrahim Al-Assaf highlighted the Kingdom’s financial policy, reviewing the Kingdom’s economy, volume of growth and investment attractiveness.
The Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) hosted the forum in collaboration with the Council of Saudi Chambers and the US-Saudi Arabian Business Council.
SAGIA Gov. Abdullatif Al-Othman expressed confidence that the conference will go a long way in boosting Saudi-US commercial and investment links.
Health Minister and Saudi Aramco Chairman Khalid Al-Falih spoke about attractive investment climates.
Top-notch businessmen and executives from Saudi Aramco, SABIC, Sadara, Maaden, Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Saline Water Conversion Corporation, and National Water Company attended the event.
Saudi Arabia is working with American firms to seek transfer of technology and knowledge to several sectors in the Kingdom.
Downstream petrochemicals, health and medical care, education and training, financial services, industrial development are some of the key sectors that have attracted the attention of investment leaders.
