Stand-up comedian Omar Hussein is known for his YouTube channel “3al6ayer,” Arabic for “On the Fly”. His show attracts 1 million views per episode and in April of this year, he landed himself a role for comic relief in the Google-sponsored “big tent” seminar, the first-ever such event to be held in the US capital, which shed light on freedom of expression in the digital age.

Hussein was an amateur stand-up comedian when he stood in front of an audience in Jeddah, Riyadh and AlKhobar. Since the show, he has became one of the three famous comedians in the Kingdom.

"3al6ayer" is a satirical show that is inspired by daily events and news published in the media, echoing the style of the hugely popular American show “The Daily Show.”

Indeed, this is why Hussein has been branded the Saudi version of Jon Stewart.

The show connects with young Saudis looking to find a substitute for the lack of entertainment in the Kingdom.

Hussein has almost 447,522 followers on Twitter, and his YouTube channel, also entitled “3al6ayer,” has more than 770,904 subscriptions and more than 58,654,339 views and counting.
