Yasmeen, 50, is the first female fruit seller of Islamabad. She is a single parent and the only bread-winner of four children. Setbacks in life forced her to make a living off a fruit cart, which is her sole source of income. In conservative Pakistan, a male-dominated society, she faces challenges but pays no heed. Yasmeen works 10 hours a day. She commutes several kilometers on foot to a buzzing market every day in hopes to earn enough and give a decent living and education to her children. It’s not easy, but for her, giving up is not an option when there are innocent mouths to feed.
