Mobily honored for innovation

Abdulaziz bin Salem Al-Ruwais, governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC), honored Mobily during a recent business event in Riyadh.
The forum, organized by the commission, took place at its head office in Riyadh.
Majed A. Al-Otaibi, senior executive officer for strategic planning and marketing at Mobily Business, received the award on behalf of the telecom company.
In his presentation, Al-Otaibi reviewed Mobily’s journey of transformation since its launch in 2005 — starting from mobile communications, could computing, data centers, information security and Internet of Things (IoT).
He also talked about the rapid increase in data and Internet usage in Saudi Arabia.
Al-Otaibi highlighted the crucial role of Saudi Vision 2030 in creating huge investment opportunities for the telecom and IT industry.
The forum focused on building an active partnership between the public and private sectors and supporting local investors in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
