Outdoor activities in Kuwait prohibited in face of coronavirus outbreak

DUBAI: All outdoor activities within Kuwait’s residential areas are prohibited especially between 5 p.m. to 6 a.m., as part of the country’s efforts to contain the coronavirus spread, state news agency KUNA reported on Friday citing the interior ministry.

The ministry added that the law will also be applied to regional waters, farms and chalets and anyone who violates it will be prosecuted.

Meanwhile, the Kuwait health ministry confirmed that two people with coronavirus died, raising the total number of fatalities to five. The ministry also said 134 people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,658.

Health ministry spokesman Abdullah Al-Sanad said 32 patients are currently in the Intensive Care Unit. He added that 33 patients recovered, raising the total number of recoveries to 258.
