TelloTalk: Pakistan’s first homegrown messaging app crosses a million downloads

ISLAMABAD: TelloTalk, Pakistan’s first homegrown and locally hosted messaging platform, said this week it had crossed a million downloads, a milestone for a Pakistani app.
Last year, TelloTalk raised $1.6 million in funding from a consortium of international and domestic investors, including global venture funds ALM Holdings (UAE), SparkLabs FinTech (Asia), One Market Capital (USA) and Cocoon Ignite Ventures (Hong Kong) as well as local institutional investors TPL eVentures, and i2i Ventures.

“Thanks a million,” the app said on its Twitter account this week:


The app is available for free downloading on the Google Playstore and Apple’s App Store.
TelloTalk has several interesting features like localized stickers, customizable emoticons, regional Pakistani language keyboards, music and news.
