From Saudi Arabia to the UAE, art events to look forward to in 2022

Desert X AlUla
Staged from Feb. 11 to March 30, the exhibition explores the theme of Sarab (which translates to mirage in English). It will present large-scale public artworks in Saudi Arabia’s AlUla.

Abu Dhabi Art
The fair will take place on Nov. 16-20 at Manarat Al-Saddiyat in the UAE capital, bringing together local and international galleries, exhibitions, artist commissions and installations.

Art Dubai
Art Dubai will open its doors from March 11-13. Its gallery sections will highlight rich cultural heritage and contemporary art practices from around the world.

Ras Al-Khaimah Fine Arts Festival
The festival will take place from Feb. 4 to March 31 in the emirate. Artists will showcase works that reflect themes of ancestry, individual growth and national identity to celebrate the UAE Golden Jubilee.

Illuminate: A Noor Riyadh Capsule
This exhibition takes place at Jeddah’s new arts hub, Hayy Jameel. Running until April 30, it features light-based works by 11 Saudi artists.
