ToYou launches Kingdom’s first monthly multi-tier subscription model

ToYou launches Kingdom’s first monthly multi-tier subscription model
  •  The new subscription model speaks to the diverse needs of its customer base with four attractive and affordable packages.
  •  Coinciding with the subscription launch, ToYou has introduced a digital wallet that boosts in-app spending and offers customers even more choice, flexibility, and exclusive deals.

Saudi-based delivery super app ToYou has launched a fresh new subscription model that is nothing short of an indulgent crime against delivery convention. With an offering that combines boundless ordering with free delivery, the platform’s new lineup of subscription packages takes customer experience to new heights and marks the beginning of online ordering without compromise.

The new subscription offering is the latest addition to the ToYou platform — an ecosystem that integrates m-commerce, logistics, and a full-scope chat system in one, easy-to-use system. The platform works with thousands of merchants to deliver everything from basic groceries to five-star restaurant requests, and from pharmacy essentials to designer fashion.

With the first-of-its-kind subscription service, ToYou is ahead of the game. Unlike other subscription services on Saudi Arabia’s delivery landscape, the platform’s offering centers on a multi-tier model, with four categories — Plus, Advance, Pro, and Unlimited — that cater to varying demands and budgets. With subscriptions starting from as little as SR19 (l$5) and perks that include attractive discounts and value-added services, ToYou’s innovative offering speaks to the needs and preferences of an increasingly diverse customer base:

  • Unlimited: True to its name, ToYou’s Unlimited package gives users limitless access to merchants, with no cap on the number of deliveries. Whether in search of urgent essentials or the ultimate treat, with boundless options, customers can order what they want, when they want it, with delivery completely free of charge.
  • Pro: The Pro subscription offers equally appealing access to an unlimited pool of merchants, this time with 10 free-delivery orders to enjoy.
  • Advance: ToYou’s Advance package enables users to place unlimited orders with a wide number of merchants. That means loyal customers can order from their favorite stores and restaurants over and over again.
  • Plus: For the less frequent user, ToYou’s Plus subscription includes up to five orders with select outlets — the perfect hassle-free option for the occasional indulgence or urgent purchase.

ToYou’s subscription offering coincides with the launch of another innovative feature: an in-app wallet that provides users with yet another flexible payment option, along with a lineup of exclusive offers that deliver extra value and customer savings. In addition to enhancing ToYou’s existing value proposition, the wallet, which involves a virtual prepaid card, will boost in-app spending and ensure a healthy cash flow as the platform continues on its growth trajectory.

The introduction of ToYou’s wallet and multi-tier subscription model comes at the right time for Saudi consumers. According to the Kingdom’s Communications and Information Technology Commission, online ordering activity is rising sharply within the country, with requests reportedly rising from 117,000 in Q4 2019 to 525,000 in the same period last year. Order values are increasing sharply too, reaching SR1.75 billion up from SR310 million, during the same period.

By building on this market opportunity and delivering unrivaled choice and service to its users, ToYou is preparing for a future of growth and expansion in Saudi Arabia and beyond.

For CCO Ziyad Al-Ajlan, the launch of ToYou’s subscription model is a game-changer on the delivery landscape. He said: “ToYou is all about customer experience and the introduction of our multi-tier subscription service takes it to a whole new level. Our subscriptions deliver almost unlimited choice and flexibility to our users — not to mention a touch of luxury — enabling them to order from anywhere, anytime, with no delivery fee.”

Al-Ajlan added: “You can now order your cocktails from Signature, your main meal from CrustCorner, and dessert from Magnolia Bakery. It’s delivery well and truly without compromise.”

Saudi air carrier flynas, the leading low-cost airline in the Middle East, announced the launch of the People’s Lens Program to inspire content creators interested in travel to go through unique experiences and share their works. The program aims to motivate innovative creators in photography, supporting talents and enriching media content, in addition to promoting the most prominent Saudi and foreign tourist and historical attractions in flynas routes.

People’s Lens Program will provide benefits, including tickets and accommodation for content creators who are active on social media to explore internal and international destinations throughout the year. flynas will publish the content like texts, photos and videos, on the company’s social media platforms and websites.

flynas connects more than 70 domestic and international destinations and has transported more than 60 million passengers since its inception in 2007. Bupa Arabia marks 25 years of health insurance leadership

For 25 years, Bupa Arabia for Cooperative Insurance has been at the forefront of the Kingdom’s health insurance sector, contributing to the development of the sector at all levels through the provision of distinguished healthcare services for millions of its customers.

Bupa Arabia offers a customer-centric experience that is fully tailored to each individual customer’s needs, using the most sophisticated technological tools. The company’s efforts are in line with its strategic vision as well as Vision 2030’s goals of improving the quality and efficiency of health services in the Kingdom.

Tal Nazer, CEO of Bupa Arabia, said: “The company has completed a quarter of a century with remarkable achievements, earning huge experience by serving the community. Bupa Arabia is today one of the most prominent, popular and innovative companies in the Kingdom. It plays a leadership role in the insurance market by focusing on customers’ needs.”

He added: “The company, in the beginning, faced certain challenges in a market driven by high costs, but we navigated through them successfully to become a leader in the health insurance sector in Saudi Arabia and the region.”

Since its inception in 1997, Bupa Arabia has played a major role in the development of the insurance sector by providing the highest levels of innovation in its products and services, organizing campaigns and awareness events, as well as focusing on digital transformation.

Bupa Arabia invested substantially in technology, where it established a department dedicated to digitization in 2018, incorporating a range of new capabilities and in turn, contributing to a significant increase in productivity.

The company constantly innovates its products and services taking into account the latest technologies to offer a seamless, digitally satisfying customer experience. For instance, the “Bupa Click” program offers a range of services through a single touch of the button while the Bupa Tebtom program provides services such as home vaccination, telemedicine, consultation, etc.

The Rahatkom program provides an integrated end-to-end hospital experience for its members, in addition to a virtual telemedicine platform and exclusive services to facilitate the healthcare journey of its customers.

Bupa Arabia was the first company in Saudi Arabia to launch its services through an app. The “Bupa Arabia” app made it easier for customers to book hospital appointments, select clinics and pharmacies, receive approvals and book visual appointments with specialist doctors — all with the tap of a finger. It was also one of the first companies in the sector to send SMSes to the customer’s phone, updating them on the status of their requests.

Bupa Arabia increased its capital from SR1.2 billion ($320 million) to SR1.5 billion in December 2022, while the company’s issued shares increased from 120 million to 150 million.

It is worth noting that the health insurance sector has made good progress in terms of its contribution to the Saudi economy. Private health insurance is now alone expected to contribute more than SR60 billion to the Kingdom’s GDP by 2030, with the number of beneficiaries reaching 21.7 million.

“Bupa Arabia’s strategies have changed the face of the insurance industry in the Kingdom,” the CEO said, highlighting the insurer’s 3-billion-strong customer base, and its acquisition of more than 45 percent of the health insurance market.

Bupa Arabia received several accolades for its notable achievements in 2022 from both national and regional organizations, the latest of which are the Council of Health Insurance’s Excellence Awards in three categories, including the “C-Suite of the Year” award, which was presented to CEO Nazer. In addition, it also won the “Best Customer Service” and “NPHIES Health Insurance Services” awards. Overall, Bupa Arabia won 23 awards from 12 regional and local organizations in a variety of categories in 2022.

Sony announced a new model of headphones designed with runners in mind. The new off-ear headphones Float Run offer a novel headphone style that positions the speaker near, but without touching the ear canal, leaving the ear safely uncovered while still delivering a rich sound experience.

The Float Run headphones focus on the runner’s form, for a comfortable and stable experience without having to compromise sound quality. Float Run offers important features to runners or athletes, including a lightweight design with a flexible neckband that does not slip when in motion, and a pressure-free design that sits off of the ears, so runners no longer need to worry about sweat or chafing getting in the way of their workout. This product was well received by crowdfunding, which led to its official launch.

With a special off-ear design, runners would not have to worry about pressure or stuffiness on their ears. For extended comfort, the Float Run headphones sit on the ears of the wearer, so they can enjoy comfort for longer without disruption. Additionally, Float Run headphones only weigh approximately 33 grams, so runners can focus on their surroundings.

Alfanar sign $1.5bn deal with Daewoo E&C during iktva 2023

Alfanar signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korean company Daewoo Engineering and Construction, during Saudi Aramco’s iktva 2023 Forum and Exhibition. The event was held at Dhahran Expo under the patronage of Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, governor of the Eastern Province, from Jan. 30 to Feb. 2.

The $1.5 billion agreement signed by Amer Al-Ajmi, executive vice president of Alfanar, and Sungmin Yang, senior vice president of Daewoo, is aimed toward joint cooperation in future projects for the oil, gas and petrochemicals sectors. As a leading Saudi company, Alfanar contributes heavily toward developing local content and achieving sustainability in these sectors. Through this agreement, Alfanar will work on transferring and localizing expertise in the engineering construction field, and exchanging the expertise of advanced technologies used in design, procurement and project execution for the oil, gas and petrochemicals sectors.

In the seventh edition of iktva, Alfanar, as a platinum sponsor, also showcased its manufacturing, engineering construction, and project development capabilities at the “Sustainability Pavilion.”

“Alfanar is one of the leading Saudi companies that is contributing to supporting local content through its national investments, which are raising the rate of localization in Saudi Arabia,” Al-Ajmi said.

He added: “These investments play a key role in advancing economic development by increasing the number of national products in many fields and by creating quality jobs. In addition to what Alfanar has already achieved in local manufacturing of industrial products, technology transfer and acquisition of international technologies, we are also working toward introducing new industries that did not exist previously in Saudi Arabia, besides what Alfanar currently has, to support Saudi Vision 2030 by possessing full intellectual property rights.”

For more than 40 years, Alfanar has been a global leader in the energy and infrastructure sectors in the Middle East, with operations in more than 22 countries. From its inception in 1976 in the Kingdom, the company is engaged in the construction, development, and operation of major projects across energy, water, process and infrastructure, as well as in the manufacturing of electrical products. Alfanar is also a major player in green fuels, with ambitious renewable energy projects in Saudi Arabia, the UK, Spain and India, and is one of the major manufacturers of wind turbines in Asia.
