RIYADH: Saudi Arabia reported 46 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, according to the Ministry of Health.
As a result, the total number of cases in the Kingdom over the course of the pandemic grew to 828,456.
The authorities also confirmed two new COVID-19-related deaths, raising the total number of fatalities to 9,590.
Of the new infections, 15 were recorded in Jeddah and eight in Riyadh. Several other cities recorded fewer than five new cases each.
The ministry also announced that 42 patients had recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 815,929.
It said 2,937 COVID-19 cases were still active, adding that 3,094 PCR tests were conducted in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number to more than 45 million.
The ministry said of the current cases, 35 patients were in critical condition.
More than 69 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered since the Kingdom’s immunization campaign began, with more than 25 million people fully vaccinated.
The ministry also urged citizens and residents to take the flu vaccine, saying that it is effective and safe and helps to reduce pressure on the nation’s hospitals and clinics.
