MARAWI CITY, 27 June 2003 — Here’s good news for Filipino expatriates who wish to continue their studies at home while working abroad. The Mindanao State University Wisdom International (MSU-WINT) is now offering global online academic programs, via the Internet.
MSU-WINT is the accredited official online university of MSU, one of the five leading state universities in the Philippines, as certified by the Philippine Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
A press statement from the Marawi-based university said MSU-WINT has a distinguished team of professors, all with doctorate degrees from renowned universities in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and the Philippines to teach various online courses.
Among the courses to be offered are Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Islamic Studies, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, B.S. in Information Technology, AB-English, BSBA (major in management), Master in Business Management (major in finance, human resource management, marketing, production management or institutional management), M.A. in Educational Guidance and Counseling, and Ph.D in Educational Planning & Management.
All MSU-WINT degrees are based on standard international curricula aimed at developing students’ intellectual, professional and total personal growth.
The MSU main campus in Marawi City in Central Mindanao will award degrees to students of this online university who successfully comply with all the academic and other requirements for graduation,
The diploma or certificate awarded to any MSU-WINT online graduate will be equivalent to the in-campus award, said the statement.
A non-profit university, MSU-WINT offers affordable tuition from only US$125 to US$300 (about 486 to 1,125 riyals) per semester. It gives partial scholarship grants or 50 percent tuition discounts to all high school graduates from recognized high schools or institutions who graduated as valedictorians and salutatorians.
