Former US vice president Mike Pence has stirred controversy after images published by Israeli media suggested that he signed Israeli artillery shells set to be fired on Lebanon.
Photographs depicted Pence, during his recent visit to Israel, signing what appeared to be artillery shells with a marker, as reported by Israeli news outlet Ynet. The shells allegedly bear the message “For Israel.”
Pence, who served as number two to former US president Donald Trump from 2017 to 2021, visited Israeli troops stationed at the Israel-Lebanon border on Friday amid months-long clashes between the IDF and Hezbollah.
In a post on X, Pence said he had “met with military leaders and joined the soldiers stationed near the Lebanon border.”

The Israel-Lebanon border has witnessed renewed hostilities between Israeli forces and Hezbollah militants since October, stemming from Israel’s war on Gaza.
