AMMAN: 11 Jordanian citizens have been evacuated from Gaza, Jordan News Agency reported on Thursday.

Sufyan Qudah, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reported that nine of the evacuees made their way to Aqaba via the Egyptian coastal town of Nuweiba, while the remaining two arrived directly in Cairo.

Qudah said that 723 Jordanian citizens out of 1,184 registered on the ministry’s lists were evacuated from Gaza to Egypt through the Rafah crossing.

Qudah highlighted the role of the Jordanian Embassy in Egypt in facilitating these operations. A dedicated team from the embassy is present on the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing, overseeing the safe evacuation of Jordanians from Gaza.
