DUBAI: More than 4,500 leading researchers, innovators and professionals gathered in Dubai recently to discuss the effect of artificial intelligence on science and business.

The second annual Machines Can See Summit, held at Dubai’s iconic Museum of the Future on April 17, allowed attendees to hear discussions on cutting-edge advancements and real-world applications of AI.

Science researchers unveiled achievements in image generation, recognition, machine learning and robotics while the business side hosted conversations on leveraging AI to streamline operations across various industries and enhance urban living.

There was a discussion held on the potential of generative AI in creative fields; and another on the role of women in the sector.

A key spotlight was the Generative Interior Design Challenge, where developers leveraged generative models to reimagine interior spaces, with $15,000 in total cash prizes awarded to the winners.

Teams DECEM, STABLEDESIGN and XENONSTACK, who were declared winners from a field of 32 teams, also received special prizes from NVIDIA including graphics cards, and access to training.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al-Nahyan, who heads the UAE’s Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, and Omar Sultan Al-Olama, who leads the Ministry for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, attended the event and delivered speeches.
