Rashids Investing SR300m in Madinah Mall Project

MADINAH, 22 June 2006 — Abdul Rahman Saad Al-Rashid & Sons Limited announced the launch of SR300-million Al-Rashid Mega Mall here sprawling over an area of more than 140,000 square meters.

The project is designed to house 400 showrooms, hypermarkets, integrated amusement, an ice-skating rink, fountains, and large food courts. The facility will also house hotel suites targeting visitors to the holy city. The project is scheduled for completion in early 2008.

Saad Al-Rashid said the Rashid Mega Mall aims at serving as a cultural landmark in Madinah. The center will also run shopping centers in several more cities in the Kingdom in line with the business model of offering a comprehensive array of shopping services under one roof.

The strategically located mall on the Second Ring Road just five minutes drive from the Prophet’s Mosque and 10 minutes from Prince Muhammad International Airport will provide facilities for most of the celebrated international and national trademarks to cater for the varying customer tastes and requirements.

The mega mall has already signed contract with the international Carrefour Hypermarket. Numerous escalators will link the four-story premises.

The amusement center being built here will be one of the largest indoor amusement parks in the Kingdom. The eateries, which will include the most leading international trademarks, will serve 1,500 at a go. The parking lot at the Madinah facility will accommodate 2,250 cars.
