Al-Sabti commended Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah’s generous support to education in order to bring about a cultural renaissance in the country. He also praised the efforts of Mawhiba officials.
“This is a big achievement,” said Ahmed Al-Balouchi, supervisor of National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity, on winning of the medals. “This is the first time our youths are taking part in this international show, which aims at promoting creativity among young minds.”
AYIE 2012 is a platform for young inventors to showcase their inventions and inventive spirit to an international audience. Targeting inventors aged 20 years and below from Asian countries, AYIE brings the young inventors to compete at an international level.
The 23rd International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition, better known as ITEX 2012, was staged at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center on May 17-19.
Organized by the Malaysian Invention and Design Society (MINDS), ITEX 2012 showcased over 800 new inventions, innovation and technology from 23 categories from Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, China, Russia, South Korea, Poland, Hong Kong and several other countries.
The annual exhibition, which is also an official Asian Caucus of Invention Associations event, serves as a marketplace and meeting point for inventors and investors to explore business ideas and to commercialize an invention or new product.
More than 15,000 people visited ITEX 2012 including researchers and scientists, venture capitalists, manufacturers and entrepreneurs, academics, corporate figures and students.
