Taking the world by storm, the Romanian band is known for their mainstream House music and Euro-pop. Their debut album, “In Culori” (In Bright Colors), reached Gold and Platinum expeditiously in 2001.
Akcent has the most watched videos on You Tube and most accessed Myspace page. “My Passion” has over nine million hits on You Tube. Even more, Akcent already has more than 358,000 fans on Facebook.
Akcent spent summer of 2007 in Poland with gigs all over the country interacting with fans. Besides Poland, Akcent was also touring again in Russia and Northern Europe. MTV Russia even followed the guys for more days in order to shoot an all-Akcent documentary, which has an ongoing demand.
Akcent's single, "Kylie," soared high to the top of several European music charts. Their debut Romanian album, “In Culori” was released in Romania in 2002 and included the hit track "Ti-am promis." They may have started small, but the giants are part of evolving music and have emerged as winners across the globe, especially through the Middle East with a mammoth fan following. Humble and eccentric the stars sure know how to party it up and live life, King size.
Their English debut album, “French Kiss,” with Kylie was released in Europe in 2006 with their two European smash hits: "Kylie" and "Jokero."
In 2008, Edward Maya was signed to produce Akcent's album, “Fara Lacrimi” (No Tears). The international music hits “Stay With Me,” “That's My Name” and “Lover's Cry” were all under Edward Maya's brand label.
In 2009, Akcent released a new album, “Fara Lacrimi.” "Stay With Me" and "That's My Name" translated into massive hits on radio stations in Romania and across the globe in countries like Greece, Armenia, Russia, Poland, Turkey, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Serbia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Egypt, Pakistan, Ukraine, India, Tunisia, Azerbaijan, Jordan, Albania, Bangladesh, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Syria, the UAE and The Sultanate of Oman.
In an Arab News exclusive, we give you the opportunity to surmise the experience with your favorite stars before their tour. We are with them as they sing “Stay With Me.”

This incredible life: today we are in Qatar, tomorrow in Prague and the day after tomorrow in Morocco and so on. We get a chance to see the whole world and meet interesting people. We can meet all our fans across the globe and this is the best thing about being Akcent.

We love all kinds of music and are keen on every genre as well as artists.

Adrian is the creator of Akcent’s music. Life inspires Akcent.

This is almost impossible to answer. We have seen such extraordinary places, so it is very hard to say. Now, we are in Qatar, which is incredible. Next week, we go to Dubai, which is incredible also. It would be safe to say all the cities are our favorites.

We believe in God!
Tell us about your first massive hit.
We released out first song called “Ti Am Promis” in Romania in 2001, which soared to a direct number 1 hit. In a few weeks, Akcent became one of the best bands in Romania. Our first international hit, however, happened years later in 2005 when our song “Kylie” played in Holland. Europe caught on and we started playing internationally.
Our biggest hit came in 2010 with “That’s My Name,” which was our ticket into worldwide stardom and gained us international recognition. It became our biggest hit.

We knew it from the start, from 2001. We are normal people creating pleasurable music.

We really want to tour China. We have only reached Malaysian shores by far.

Music is an ever-changing phenomenon; it is always evolving. We try to make new music all the time.

This is also a very hard question to answer. The only memory I have right now is last year’s award for “Best Band From Balkans,” which we received at Soifa, Bulgaria!

We are open for collaboration. There are many artists we would love to sing with. We do not know yet but we are looking into future possibilities.

Middle East is very important to us; we love to be here. We love people from here and we feel at home here. Thanks for your hospitality!
Akcent played in Dubai on April 21 and in Turkey on April 29. Rumors articulate Akcent left them “Love Stoned,” and we are pretty convinced they did.
