Turkish Airlines offers flying chef service on Saudi flights

Turkish Airlines, winner of Europe’s Best Airline accolade, has launched its award-winning flying chef service for business class travelers on flights from Saudi Arabia, a gourmet offering that earned the national carrier of Turkey Best Business Class Catering at the Skytrax 2013 awards.
A preview of the on-board culinary experience was showcased to guests at Turkish Food Festivals held at the Hilton Hotel in Jeddah and Four Seasons hotel in Riyadh. At the launch of the festivals, in celebration of Turkish Republic Day, flying chefs treated guests to exquisite Turkish inspired dishes usually mastered in the galleries of Turkish Airlines modern aircraft.
Ersen Engin, GM for Turkish Airlines in Riyadh, said: “Our business class seats are incredibly popular with travelers from Saudi Arabia and the flying chef service is our way of rewarding existing and potential fliers with an enhanced on board travel experience.”
Business class travelers on flights from Turkish Airlines seven city network in Saudi Arabia can experience culinary delights as flying chefs work alongside cabin crew to serve a weekly menu of the finest international and Turkish inspired cuisine. Dishes are prepared using fresh ingredients and chefs are trained specifically to work in the limited gallery space.
Osman Hacımahmutoglu, GM, Turkish Airlines in Jeddah, said: “The Turkish food festival has given residents a real taste for the restaurant style cuisine served by our qualified flying chefs on-board.”
The flying chef service was launched in 2010 by Turkish Airlines in a joint venture with Turkish DO&CO.
Turkish Airlines marks its milestone 80th anniversary this year and continues to operate as one of the fastest growing airlines, with 239 destinations across 104 countries, connecting passengers from Saudi Arabia to more countries than any other airline in the world.
