As part of its commitment to support human capital development in the Kingdom, GE has joined hands with Injaz Saudi Arabia, the local affiliate of Junior Achievement, to strengthen the skills of students across the Kingdom and prepare them for professional careers.
GE Volunteers, team members of the company, partnered on the "My Way to the Job Market" campaign organized by Injaz Saudi Arabia, under the patronage of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Labor.
Hisham Bahkali, GE’s president & CEO for Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, said: “GE is a committed partner in supporting the government’s committed efforts to advance human capital development and promote localization initiatives. We focus on empowering Saudi youth through knowledge sharing sessions and training initiatives, in addition to strengthening the skills of our employees. We also encourage them to take an active role in community initiatives as part of our focus to give back to the communities we serve in.”
GE Volunteers conducted workshops and training programs for school students on workplace skills and career readiness at five schools, reaching out to over 320 students. Twelve GE staff members took part in the initiative, providing over 145 hours of volunteering support, and utilizing over 130 hours at various schools for training and preparing the students for careers. The GE Volunteers is undertaking the sessions over three days.
Injaz Saudi Arabia’s "My Way to the Job Market" aimed to reach over 11,400 high school students across the Kingdom with each group of students to receive 12 workshops in business and workplace skills. On completion of the program, the students received a certificate that highlights their career readiness.
As part of its $1 billion investment commitment to the Kingdom, GE has joined hands with Saudi Aramco and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to launch the first all-female business process services center in Riyadh.
