KFSH, Pak Shaheen enter final; Babar, Wahab dazzle

AL KHARJ: A brilliant all-round performance by King Faisal Specialist Hospital’s (Blues) Nadeem Babar who single handedly helped his team get the better of Amir Holidays by 5 wickets to enter the final of the Al Kharj Zone ORIX Twenty20 cricket tournament organized by the Riyadh Cricket Association, here.
The other semi was a one-sided affair as Pak Shaheen ousted Falcons by 156 runs.
In the Riyadh Zone quarterfinal matches, Tigers Group thrashed Riyadh Royals by 9 wickets, Pak Eagles worked hard for their 24-run win over TBCC, Kingdom Warriors routed White Star while Lahore Badshah Green beat Seham by 6 wickets.
KFSH Blues took the wicket first and posted 250 for 3. Nadeem Babar looked in excellent touch and scored 101 runs. This was his 199th century in his 24-year career in Saudi Arabia. Babar was supported by Irshad Mubashir (68), Nasir Abbasi (35) and Qaiser Hussain (21). Amir Holidays in reply fought hard, but fell short of the target by 5 runs. Shahbaz (62), Kamran (41), Irfan (33), Sami Arshad (23) and Samiullah (21) tried to make a fight of it. Nadeem Babar and Irshad Mubashir bowled excellently and took 3 wickets each.

In the second semifinal, Pak Shaheen put on board 289 for 5. Abdul Wahab played a scintillating knock of 148, which came off 48 balls. Yassir (66) and Abdul Waheed (52) were the other run getters.
Falcons in reply bundled out for 133. Abuzar, Javed, Abdulaziz and Faisal picked 2 wickets each.

In the Riyadh Zone quarterfinals, Royal batted first and scored 196 runs. Majid (53) and Fakhar (48) were the main scorers. Sharaf bowled excellently and bagged 5 wickets. Tigers Group raced to their target off 14.1 overs. Sailesh Kaw remained unbeaten on 96. Sajid (51) and Kamran (41) were the other scorers

In another match Pak Eagles put up a total of 188 runs. Shabir (45), Farooq (27) and Wahidullah (24) were the main run getters. In reply TBCC managed 164. Wahidullah, Saqib and Altaf picked 2 wickets each.

Elsewhere, Kingdom Warriors scored 250. Shakir (75), Hussain (60) and Sameer (44) made the score possible. Fawad picked 2 wickets. White Star managed 201. Mudassir top-scored with 68. Ateeq Shaoor picked 5 wickets including a hat trick.

Seham scored 188 for 8. Majid (71) and Nasir (51) were the top scorers. Zahideen picked 2 wickets. Lahore Badshah Green achieved the target after 19 overs. Zahideen (51), Afzal (50), Saad (35) and Arman (30) were the main contributors. Majid and Waseem picked 2 wickets each.
