Pak Shaheen tames Lahore Lions in RCA season-opener

RIYADH: Twenty matches were played during the first round of the Riyadh Cricket League, which took off last week.
Sixty-seven are taking part in this tourney divided into five leagues. Al-Kharj, Huraymala, Hayer, Diriyadh and Qassim. RCA President Tariq Javed visited the complex and inaugurated the new season.
In one of the closely fought matches, Pak Shaheen got the better of Lahore Lions by 3 wickets in Al-Kharj.
Lahore Lions elected to bat first and set their rivals a target of 135 runs. Abdul Salam took 5 wickets and Faisal got a hat trick. Pak Shaheen got to their target off 16 overs and scored 141 for 7. Ishaq Ahmed (31) and Abdul Aziz (26) steered their team to victory.
In another match played in Huraymala, Pakistan Falcons scored a thrilling two-run win over AKCC. Falcons batted first and put on board 174 for 7. Hamza Abbasi scored a blistering 75 runs. He was supported by Awais’ quick-fire 55. Nadeem Jahangir and Shoukat bagged 2 wickets each.
AKCC tried to make a fight of it but fell short and scored 172 for 7. Kamran and Sultan scored 35 and 32 runs respectively. Hamza Abbasi and Matiullah were the main wicket takers. In the same league, Hyderabadi Warriors beat FUCHS by 20 runs.
Hyderabadi Warriors scored 198 runs in their stipulated overs. Mubashir showed his batting skills with a blazing 105 runs. FUCHS could manage only 178 runs. Shehbaz Laldin supported him with 73. Mubashir and Imroz picked 3 wickets each.
In another match KFSH, Green routed Sulaiman XI by 72 runs.
