Kader Khan in Makkah

It is heartening to read the report, “Kader Khan in Makkah for Haj,” (Sept. 30) which suggests Khan, who is Indian film industry’s one of the most versatile actors, has regretted acting in film, as according to the actor it is not permissible in Islam.
Allah is merciful. He is very kind and forgiving to His servants who sincerely repent.
Before taking up the film career, Khan was associated with the noble profession of teaching. He was the professor at an engineering college in Mumbai. From there he cultivated the art of story and dialogue writing. Khan is inspired by the acting talent of Dilip Kumar, the thespian of the Bollywood, who became Khan’s role model.
Praising Dilip Kumar, Khan had once said, “Amitabh Bachchan (another talented actor of the film industry) should learn two things from Dilip Kumar: How to smile and how to weep? And if he gets these two things in his stride genuinely, Bachchan can be a complete actor.”
Khan was instrumental in the success of Bachchan’s film career to a great extent. He wrote many film scripts for Bachchan, which turned out to be huge success, like Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, which became an all-time classic movie. Khan will be remembered as one of the top most versatile actor and story writer, India has ever produced.
