Virgin Mobile switches on next generation service in KSA

Virgin Mobile has announced the switch on of its next generation mobile service in Saudi Arabia, making Virgin Mobile numbers active and Virgin Mobile pre-paid and post-paid plans available across the Kingdom.
The switch-on marks the final stage of the launch of Virgin Mobile Saudi Arabia, heralding a new type of mobile service that promises to change the mobile market for the benefit of consumers and wider society.
Virgin Mobile began its campaign to change the way mobile operators do business and to make mobile better in Saudi Arabia when it was awarded a Mobile Virtual Network Operator license from the CITC in April 2014.
Since Virgin Mobile’s arrival in Saudi Arabia, the telecoms provider has been working in conjunction with the young and the young-at-heart to create a new generation of mobile service that is inspired by and designed for the people of The Kingdom.
Five million pre-paid recharge cards, that will be available across the Kingdom, were designed and voted for by Virgin Mobile’s online member community.
Virgin Mobile also worked with the online community to identify and select the Creative Collective, a group of Saudi’s “coolest individuals” that will help Virgin Mobile to make mobile better by sharing their expertise in areas such as photography, film and gadgetry.
“We share a collective goal, to Make Mobile Better, one phone and one plan at a time,” said Karim Benkirane, chief executive of Virgin Mobile in Saudi Arabia.
