Malabar Gold & Diamonds honors its staff for making world’s longest gold chain

Malabar Gold & Diamonds, one of the leading jewelry retailers, honored 60 staff for their involvement and participation in the creation of world’s longest handmade gold chain, which was jointly manufactured by Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group (DGJG) and Dubai Festival & Retail Establishments (DFRE) along with selected manufacturers.
This chain has created another record for Dubai and secured yet another position in the Guinness book of world records.
This remarkable creation, which is named as Dubai Celebration Chain, was manufactured to commemorate the 20th anniversary of DSF (Dubai Shopping Festival).
Shamlal Ahamed, MD, international operations, said: “Being the largest partner in manufacturing 1.32 km of the chain out of the total 5.52 km, we can definitely say that it was a painstaking task. But our entire team was in high spirits and took it as a challenge. In recognition of their commitment and hard work, we honor our staff in our two manufacturing divisions in the UAE.”
Faisal A.K., corporate executive director, jewelry manufacturing, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, said: “We are proud of this achievement and consider this as the success of jewelry industry as a whole. It required 60 staff, 28,800 man hours and 45 days for manufacturing 61.75 kg of the total 256 kg chain. We consider this as the success of the gold industry as a whole.”
The management team spent a day with the factory team and together they cut a cake to celebrate this success.
The public can be a part of this unique project by booking a piece of the chain. The booking can be made by paying 10 percent of the total amount as advance deposit.
