Probe ordered into death of pregnant woman

The Directorate of Health Affairs in Najran has launched an investigation into a claim of negligence that resulted in the death of a pregnant woman, local media said.
Misfir Al-Fitaih claimed that when his wife was brought to a private clinic in Yadmah to follow up on her three-month pregnancy, she was given a sensitivity testing injection that caused cramps and sent her into a coma shortly afterward.
Upon noticing her critical condition, the man said that he hurriedly took his wife to Yadmah General Hospital in his own car for better medical treatment.
Upon arrival at the hospital, the doctors told him that his wife had died 10 minutes prior to her arrival, and said that the death could have happened due to a possible heart attack or an irregularity in her heartbeat, he told an Arabic daily.
The man alleged that his wife suffered from negligence at the private clinic, which he claims is only interested in selling medicines to patients without offering sufficient professional medical care.
