Revolutionary solar glass technology gathers interest at expo

JEDDAH: Emirates Insolaire LLC, a pioneer in the development of new solar technologies and a joint venture of Dubai Investments (DI) and SwissINSO Holding Inc., has announced that the company’s revolutionary solar glass technology has generated a lot of interest during EnerSolar+ Brasil 2015 exhibition, currently under way in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The company, which recently completed the installation of world’s first Kromatix colored solar PV modules on a building façade in Lausanne, Switzerland, as well as projects in Basel and Austria, is showcasing its latest innovations in colored solar panels — the first-of-its-kind in the world which generates energy on its own.
More than 250 exhibitors from across the globe are attending EnerSolar, running till July 17.
Emirates Insolaire sees huge growth potential for its colored solar panels, powered by the Kromatix technology amidst 40 percent year-on-year growth in the photovoltaic market globally.
The total number of installations in solar in the world is foreseen for 2015 as 160 GW — approximately 800 million square meters of glass.
Emirates Insolaire expects sales more than 50,000 square meters for colored solar panels in 2015 alone.
The company has already initiated plans to ramp up its solar glass production in excess of 1.5 million square meters per year in line with the surging demand and enquiries from GCC states, Europe, US, Singapore, South Korea and South America.
“Emirates Insolaire has ushered in a paradigm shift in solar applications with its energy-elegant dress on buildings, bringing an important relief to our home planet, and a financial one to the energy user,” said Rafic Hanbali, managing partner of Emirates Insolaire.
“The Kromatix solar panels can supply between 20 percent and 60 percent of needed energy for a building. For certain industries with large roof and façades, this can go up to 100 percent. The company reinforces this unique offering through exhibitions such as EnerSolar,” said Hanbali.
Emirates Insolaire, part of Glass LLC — the glass pioneers in the Middle East, manufactures its colored solar glass panels at the Emirates Glass manufacturing facility in Dubai.
