Coach Inc., a major New York design house of modern luxury accessories and lifestyle collections, has unveiled the company’s next generation retail concept at Riyadh’s Kingdom Centre, one of the iconic landmarks of Saudi Arabia.
This store, following the modern luxury concept, is the first of its kind to be opened in the Middle East.
The new store design was developed by Coach Executive Creative Director Stuart Vevers, in partnership with Studio Sofield, led by its designer and President William Sofield.
Drawing from a wide range of influences, the concept places a premium on contrasting textures and luxury materials.
Kingdom Centre features a 295 sqm space with a back-lit glass block complimenting the face-lit signage.
The store interiors consist of iron spot brick pavers, reclaimed heart-pine wood flooring. The store concept’s palette is neutral.
Fabricated from natural and ebonized ash, blackened steel, antique bronze and mahogany trim, the cabinetry features handbag walls incorporating seasonal artwork backdrops on roller systems.
The stores are appointed with statement mid-century furniture punctuating the elegant lines and muted colors.
“As the Coach brand continues on the path of transformation, I wanted to create something different – different for Coach and unique in luxury,” said Vevers.
“I believe the new incarnation of the Coach store that William Sofield and I created will trigger a powerful change in the perception of Coach; it is sophisticated and refined, yet playful and authentic,” he added.
Coach International President Giorgio Sarne stated: “I am thrilled to invite our customers to experience Coach’s new store concept at the Kingdom Centre, a luxury shopping destination in Riyadh. The new design is the perfect environment to showcase Vevers’ latest assortment of stylish and sophisticated lifestyle products.”
