RIYADH: The Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) is to launch a new national portal in cooperation with the Labor and Civil Service Ministries to bring all Saudi job seekers under one umbrella.
The new state-of-the-art platform will include information on training and employment services. According to an official from the Ministry of Labor, those registered under the Hafiz program need not worry about this new program, which is to be introduced by the ministry in a fortnight. The beneficiaries of the Hafiz program can register under the new program when it is launched after a period of 14 days from Saturday. More than 1.3 million youths have registered with the Hafiz program across the Kingdom.
The HRDF has set aside SR3.6 billion for them for a period until they find jobs. They are paid SR2,000 a month for a period of only one year.
The payment is discontinued irrespective of whether they have found a job or not within 12 months. Companies are also supported with funds paid by the HRDF.
The HRDF has indicated in the past that it has enough financial resources to support registered youth. It has an online program that helps Saudis complete their training at home. The Labor Ministry said earlier that 85 percent of the registered youths are women. It has also launched projects such as Nitaqat and Liqaat to end unemployment in the Kingdom.
