RIYADH: International Indian Public School-Riyadh (IIPSR) recently organized a science exhibition to mark the birth anniversary of top scientist and former Indian President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
In the year 2010, the United Nations decided to honor Kalam, father of India’s military missile program, on his 79th birth anniversary and declared his birthday on October 15 as the ‘World Students’ Day’.
“Our students from various classes organized the exhibition as a tribute to the great scientist and ‘people’s president,” IIPSR principal K M Abdul Azeez told Arab News on the sidelines of the event on Thursday.
“Kalam, who is no more in this world, grabbed every opportunity to teach students, especially children, wherever he went as he was committed to national development and prepared Vision 2020 to make India a developed nation by then” he said.
About 300 students from class four to 12 participated in the exhibition, which showcased their exciting innovations and experiments.
The themes for the exhibition included health, agriculture, environment, energy resources, space technology, use of waste to produce bio-gas, ways to purify water and air and use of solar energy to power various equipment.
The students who participated in the science exhibition said that the exhibition gave them a chance to display their talent. “We learned new ways of applied sciences to do good in academic life,” said one of the students.
Vice Principal Shabana Parveen and planning coordinator Arshad Ali Khan played a key role in helping the students exhibit their works.
