DAMMAM: The International Indian School-Dammam (IISD) is holding EduEx 2015, its annual educational exhibition, showcasing projects developed by Grade 9-12 students at its boys campus in Rakah on Nov. 14.
“The expo, with the participation of over 2,000 boys displaying more than 300 exhibits, will be inaugurated at 9 a.m. and remain open for parents and students from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.,” said IISD Principal E.K. Mohammed Shaffe.
Hussain Al-Maqbul, senior supervisor at the department of foreign and private schools at the Education Ministry, will be the guest of honor. Awad Al-Maliki, assistant director of private and foreign education at the Education Ministry, will be the chief guest.
IISD Managing Committee Chairman Abdul Salam Kanniyan and members, school staff and invitees will attend the inauguration.
Exhibits include working models titled “Melting Man,” “Hologram,” “Wind Tunnel,” “Drone,” “Tesla Coil,” “Fingerprint Detector” and “Thermal Power Plant.”
Other titles of models are “Quad Copter,” “Virtual Reality,” “Artificial Intelligence,” “Animation,” “Spy Camera,” “Robo Bomb Diffuser” and “Asimo Robo.”
“The exhibition covers all mainstream subjects with displays from math, social science, eco clubs, health and hygiene, physics, chemistry, biology, and computer science,” said Shaffe.
The school’s social science department presents projects like shale gas, energy sources, river drainage pattern, earthquake, and ancient trade routes of India.
The exhibition has a separate section on Islamic studies and Saudi culture.
Educational projects include works of famous English literary personalities such as William Shakespeare, William Wordsworth and Tom Sawyer.
An organizing committee comprising the headmasters and the core group is in charge of the event.
