Azzam Al-Dakhil’s book gets excellent reviews

JEDDAH: Dr. Azzam Al-Dakhil, managing director of the Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG) and former education minister, has published a book, “Ma’a Al-Mo’allem” (With the Teacher).
The book deals with factors affecting the success of the educational process and focuses on four major factors — the student, teacher, curriculum and educational environment.
The student, according to Al-Dakhil, is the core of the teaching and learning process. The learner, whether child or adult, is the basis for reform along with the process of modernization which depends upon the preparation of teachers.
The book offers insights and advice to teachers and school administrators and supervisors on how they can improve teaching and learning in their schools.
According to the writer, the role of teachers is highly important. They are considered the key factor to students’ success; however, they are facing new challenges posed by the changes in the society.
The educational environment has the key role, along with other factors, in the success of the educational process.
It pertains to a variety of things where students learn how individuals interact with one another or how teachers are arranging the locations and using audiovisual and digital aids to teach students.
The book, published by Arab Scientific Publishers, is getting good reviews. It is seen as a valuable addition to books on Saudi education.
