Gulf Safety Forum in Doha gets support from diverse industries

The Gulf Safety Forum will take place in Doha in October with the support of Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Qatar’s prime minister and minister of interior.
Organized by Euro Petroleum Consultants and the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC), the conference expects to bring together key industry players from across the region to discuss strategies for continuous improvement of safety procedures as well as share successful case studies and roadmaps toward achieving the goal of zero accidents.
International safety experts and providers of safety tools and technologies will also present the latest methodologies, which can assist companies to achieve these goals.
Representatives will gather from diverse industry sectors, including oil, gas, petrochemicals, construction, manufacturing and transportation.
Paul Stanley Williams, health and safety senior manager at Qatar Rail, said: “Qatar Rail is pleased to be taking part in the Gulf Safety Forum as we have a strong culture of collaboration, which enables learning and sharing of positive health and safety practices.” Franco Polli of DuPont Sustainable Solutions, stated: “Workplace safety remains a critical issue within the GCC, and we are pleased to contribute to the conversation about how to drive improvement.”

Keynote Speakers include Regents Professor and Director of the Mary Kay O'Connor Process Safety Center, at Texas A&M University, Sam Mannan, and Laurence Cusco, head of international unit at the UK’s Health and Safety Laboratory.
