PHVG member martyred in Mina car accident

JEDDAH: The Pakistan Haj Volunteers Groups (PHVG) lost one of its members, 68-year-old Ibrar Qureshi, in a traffic accident in Mina, while performing his duty of guiding and helping pilgrims during Haj.
Waseem Bukhari, PHVG spokesperson, told Arab News that Qureshi passed away in a tragic car accident while coming back from Muzdalaifah to Mina after performing his duty.
A speeding car hit him and he died on the spot. His funeral prayers were held at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, and he was buried in a local grave yard. Bukhari said that PHVG plans to establish a charity on Qureshi’s name.
Qureshi came to Kingdom in 1979 and worked at the Saudi Aramco till 1996. After that, he worked at different companies.
“He was a good person and would always help the poor,” Bukhari said.
Qureshi has left behind a widow, a son and a daughter. His wife is a retired teacher at the Pakistan International School, Azizia.
“We pray to Allah to bless his soul,” Bukhari added.
