Saudi Arabia’s unblemished image

This refers to the Arab News report “Obama veto ‘saved’ historic Saudi-US ties.” (Sept. 26)
It is unfortunate that the US Congress has overridden the US President Barack Obama’s veto on 9/11 Bill, or JASTA. He had done a remarkable job by listening to his own conscience and not following the Congress by vetoing JASTA.
As a matter of fact, there is no proof that Saudi Arabia was involved in 9/11 terrorist act. Hence, it was an irresponsible act of the US Congress to implicate Kingdom for a crime it had not committed. Saudi Arabia is an American ally for a long time and it has been fighting against terrorists for years with the US shoulder to shoulder. Our leaders have always dealt with terrorist groups with an iron fist. Saudi Arabia has also been the largest donor of funds to UN to eradicate terrorism from the surface of the earth, then how can Congress blame Kingdom for its involvement in 9/11? This is really mindboggling to me. To me, it seems Congress is playing into the hands of the Jewish lobby.
In addition, Saudi Arabia has been doing a lot of charitable work and donating huge funds for Syrian people. It has taken 2.5 million Syrians under its patronage by giving them opportunity to stay and work in the Kingdom. It has also donated huge funds to Yemeni people to uplift their standard of living.
Whatever vicious designs Saudi enemies may have, they cannot tarnish its unblemished image because it has done only good to all the nations under the sun.
