Japanese Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Hiroshige Seko paid a visit to the Saudi Electronics and Home Appliances Institute (SEHAI), a technical institute for training of Saudi youths, supported by the governments of Saudi Arabia and Japan as well as private sector companies of both countries.
The visit was on the sidelines of a ministerial forum of the Saudi-Japanese Joint Group for Vision 2030, to discuss approaches and opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.
He was welcomed by the SEHAI executive management represented by the institute’s Executive Director Ismail Mohammed Mufarreh, Administration Manager Musaed bin Saad Al-Otaibi, and Educational Manager Eball Ahmed.
During his tour, the minister visited a workshop on Monodzukuri (manufacturing in Japanese language).
The Monodzukuri is one of the training courses within the curriculums of SEHAI and it has been designed and developed in Japan by the institute’s academic partner, Nippon Engineering College NEEC. Its aim is to give the trainees the technical and professional skills needed as well as learning opportunities through practical hands-on training, and motivate and encourage their creativity.
During his visit to the workshop, a number of the institute graduates welcomed the minister and his accompanying delegation and presented an explanation of the professional skills and scientific technical capabilities they have learned and acquired during the their study in the institute and how these contributed and helped them to integrate work after graduation and joining the companies that employed them.
SEHAI, a joint venture that embodies the partnership between Saudi Arabia and Japan, contributes directly to the goal of Learn to Work enshrined in Vision 2030, where the institute trains the Saudi trainees and qualifies them technically and professionally by providing them with the technical skills and knowledge required, develops the level of their awareness of business ethics and ensures employment for each trainee.
