RIYADH: Assistant Director General for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) at the Ministry of Health (MoH) Mansour Al-Suaidan has been selected by the Kent, Leonard, Adam and Scott (KLAS) as the only Arab advisory board member.

“Mansour Al-Suaidan was selected as the only Arab board member on the International advisory board of KLAS,” a MoH spokesman said on Tuesday.

KLAS is an international organization specialized to improving the health care domain through helping decision makers in health institutions, and getting the proper selection of diverse health care informatics applications based on reliable and comprehensive information from the viewpoint of the beneficiaries of the service.

According to the official, as per the new selection, KLAS comprises nine members that include five members from Britain and one each from Saudi Arabia, Canada, Singapore and Germany.

“These members have been chosen according to a preset, clear-cut mechanism based on their expertise in the area of applying health informatics,” the MoH official said.

Notably, Al-Suaidan holds a master’s degree in information systems management from George Washington University, in the United States.

Moreover, he has working experience and expertise in the health sector for more than 25 years.
