Jeddah to have SR 2 bn speciality hospital

A SR 2 billion super specialty hospital will be established in Jeddah as part of the Prince Sultan Cultural Center. An agreement has been signed with Methodist International, based in Houston, to implement and manage the medical complex, which will be located close to King Abdullah Sports Complex.
Muhammad Al-Fadl, chairman of the center’s board of directors, signed the deal with Cathy Easter, president and CEO of the US hospital system. The agreement covers development and operation of the medical complex.
“Prince Sultan Culture Center Medical City will be the leading health care provider in Western Province. We are pleased to have Methodist International as our partner and operator of our flagship hospital,” he said.
Al-Fadl said the medical complex, which is established in honor of the late Prince Sultan, would provide health services to nearly five million people in the Makkah region.
The Prince Sultan Cultural Center Company is planning to develop a fully integrated medical city as part of a larger cultural park in Jeddah. The project includes housing developments, a commercial complex with showrooms and hotels, medical university, a sports center, an international conference and exhibition center, and various public utility services.
The complex will include a general hospital, several specialized hospitals and medical centers, wellness and long-term care facilities and a school of health sciences.
