Bahrain’s Prime Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa commended Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah’s services to the Arab and Muslim world on the occasion of the Kingdom’s National Day.
“The people of Saudi Arabia deserve special compliment because they are ruled by a king whose achievements transcend the Saudi boundaries and reach the Arab and Muslim countries,” said Sheikh Khalifa while addressing a function at the Saudi Embassy in Bahrain on Wednesday.
Saudi Arabia’s status and influence has been growing, not only in the Gulf region and the Arab world, but globally under its wise leaders, beginning from founder of the Kingdom King Abdul Aziz to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, said Sheikh Khalifa.
“The National Day of the Kingdom deserves special appreciation and commendation because it narrates a story of the success of its kings and citizens who chose unity and solidarity under the banner of ‘No God but Allah’ and ‘Muhammad is His Messenger’,” he said.
They also strived to do their best to build a kingdom in line with modern development, the Sheikh said.
He added that the present close relations between the two countries are steeped in history.
“The flames of this relationship will not die, as they are fostered by the leaders in the two countries,” he said.
Al-Khalifa also lauded King Abdullah for his efforts to bring unity in the Arab world and the Muslim world, and his service to Islam and Muslims, Al-Watan newspaper reported yesterday.
He regarded the king’s latest initiative to undertake vast expansion works for the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah as the most notable event during his reign.
Hoping for deeper relations between his country and Saudi Arabia, Al-Khalifa said “We are keen to push forward our strong relations and cooperation in various ways.”
Speaking on the occasion, Saudi Ambassador in Manama Abdul Mohsen Al-Marik thanked the prime minister for attending the national day reception
