JEDDAH: A Shoura Council delegation, headed by Mohammad bin Hamid Al-Naqqadi, will begin an official visit to the United States on Monday.
The delegation includes Ahmad Al-Mufreh, Saud Al-Subaie, Sadaqah Fadhel, Awad Al-Asmari and two women members, Jawhara Bubshait and Hanan Al-Ahmadi. The delegation will meet with a number of US Congressmen and officials from the US State Department, the US-Saudi Business Council, the American Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Saudi students on scholarships in America.
The delegation will visit the research center of the Library of Congress and various think-tanks.
The head of the delegation said the visit is within the framework of bilateral relations between the two countries, and will enhance the mutual cooperation between the Shoura Council and the US Congress.
During its meetings with members of Congress, the delegation would seek to explain the Kingdom’s stands on regional and international issues, particularly on Yemen, Syria and Palestine. The delegation will shed light on the leading role of the government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to fight terrorism and spread a culture of dialogue among religions across the world so that peace prevails.
